![]() Individuals may also purchase for their personal needs.Ĭostco’s warehouses present one of the largest and most exclusive product category selections to be found under a single roof. The warehouses are designed to help small-to-medium-sized businesses reduce costs in purchasing for resale and for everyday business use. Unless you would rather spend the rest of your life slaving away for cooperate then by all means Costco would be the perfect fit for you.Costco Wholesale Corporation operates an international chain of membership warehouses, mainly under the "Costco Wholesale" name, that carry quality, brand name merchandise at substantially lower prices than are typically found at conventional wholesale or retail sources. In retrospect accepting a job offer from Costco was one of my biggest mistake. The actual working environment of my department does not get any better you will have to deal with impatient members, nitpicky managers who are the physical embodiment of a wet noodle, and some rude coworkers in your department as in mine one of which despite having very little experience in the field likes to act like a know it all talking down to others using words you should never say in a workplace. Costco will schedule you in any way they want with their "part-time hours" and expect you to bend over backward to be able to get on the clock on time(They once scheduled me 10 consecutive work days in a row at one point and kept giving me long working days afterwards forcing me to drop out of college as I no longer had time to complete my assignments after getting home late). I find the scheduling to be very frustrating, especially for someone like me who only works for money to fund my aspirations and needs to work at a specific schedule. While the pay is decent with exceptional benefits compared to other retail stores. ![]() Overall my working experience at Costco is very disappointing. Don’t get sucked into the drama or gossip and you’ll be fine. I learned that the hard way when I walked away from my business to work here. It’s definitely not for the entrepreneur minded, it’s very much employee driven and employee mindset wise. If you do get hired on as permanent, good chance you’ll be employed for good as long as you don’t have attendance issues, work related issues, behavioral issues, etc. It’s always a good day when everyone is in a good mood. It’s probably the best retail business to work for when it comes to retail. You will be expected to work hard with little complaints. ![]() Plenty of opportunities for all backgrounds.Ĭostco is big on seniority. Or even a mom looking to get back into the workforce. I would apply if you are a fresh out of high school kid looking for a steady paycheck. There are certain coworkers/supervisors that can be a pain in the butt, overall it’s been pretty good for me. It’s not a typical 9-5 with weekends off. 2nd shift mostly (12-8:30pm or 1-9:00pm) which can be a drag at times. Sometimes management will tell you they’ll get back to you on an issue and it wouldn’t be mentioned again. It’s a good job with good benefits if you don’t have a college degree. Very fast paced and intense at times, on your phone? Slacking off? You’ll be fired and replaced within a week. It’s nice to just work with coworkers and not have to interact with customers all day.
